Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail

Summer 2024 Ride

August, 2024 by vicki1960

Our annual Summer ride on this trail. We commute approx 90 minutes to get to. Parked in Lisbon and biked up to Washingtonville and back for a 25 mile round trip. Slight uphill grade from South to North. A majority of this trail is very well shaded and that helps on a hot and sunny summer day. Trail also passes through a few open farmlands. In Leetonia, mile 10, take the brick road through town to reconnect the trail at mile marker 11. New splash pad park in Leetonia. Just of the trail by gravel path are the historic Cherry Coke Beehive Ovens. We missed stopping there the past few years and it's really getting overgrown and some of the ovens are deteriorating. Always an enjoyable annual ride on this trail.

Nice, paved trail. Great scenery and remote location make for a wonderful summer evening ride. Looking forward to going back this fall.

Sheepskin Rail-Trail

Very Soft

July, 2024 by pat.place

I rode the section from Dunbar to the GAP; except for the part by the railroad it's very pretty. But, today anyway, it was super soft. Like they'd laid a lot of sand & gravel and not packed it. A fine ride, but the softness made it hard going

West Fork River Trail

Enjoyed this ride. Easy, crushed gravel and pavement. Lots of nice informational signs about the coal towns. Rode Monogah to Shinnston. About half mile in if going from Monogah to Fairmont there is a mud slide that is impassable.

We went from the trail head in Lisbon up to Washingtonville, OH. Had lunch at Fat Ted’s and biked back. Around 25 miles total. Trail was really well kept and well marked!

Great Guernsey Trail

Great Trail

Awesome little trail. Flat, nice pavement. Not far off of I70. Very shady. Was pleasantly surprised as I just was looking for a quick workout on the way back from Columbus to Pittsburgh.

Panhandle Trail

Beautifully Boring

June, 2024 by wj.larkin123

Been at least 3 yrs since I did this trail, probably longer. Took off at Walkers Mill Rd lot and headed west. The part in Allegheny County is crushed limestone, quite decent shape (been very dry here lately), not many ridges, or bumps or washouts. The only unpleasant portion has a mix of old asphalt and gravel, that was quite bumpy for less than a full mile.

Once you reach Washington county, the trail turns to smooth asphalt and is great! Very beautiful, quiet, not very crowded (saw maybe 20 users over 2 hrs). Wildflowers of purple and yellow all along the trail in full bloom. Got close to a doe who was eating trailside and not scared by our presence.

Turned around after 12.5 miles, somewhere past Midway and near Bulger. Mostly downhill on way back so that is nice!

Conotton Creek Trail

Great Trail!

This is a great ride. Paved, porto potties, benches and covered bridges. We will do this one again. Bring your bug spray!!!! The flies were awful.

Brooke Pioneer Trail

Almost Open

June, 2024 by rpfau147

We started at the northern end of the trail and had to park at Beech Bottom, as construction in the first mile of the trail, near Wellsburg has the trail closed until late August 2024. The spur to the new bridge is open and the trail has a nice section of new pavement. Rode this to the Wheeling Heritage Trail. Nice easy trail with some views of the Ohio river. Only one pit toilet on trail.

Great Guernsey Trail

Well Maintained

Love this, several picnic table covered areas to take a break. There are 3 porta John’s which is real tough to find on that short of a trail! Loved it, about half shaded and half full sun.

Conotton Creek Trail

One of the best trails

June, 2024 by khswy7bn2p

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a ride and the Conotton Trail was incredibly well maintained. We started at the Bowerston entrance and went the full length into Jewett, and back again. The trail was smooth, well maintained, with 5 quaint covered bridges, flower boxes along the way, plenty of resting spots if needed, lots of wildlife (bunnies, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, a large variety of birds). A pit stop at the ice cream shop in Scio for a cone was a sweet treat. If you watch the trees at the beginning of the trail, there are some miniature decorated bird houses in the trees. Great ride!

Montour Trail

Great scenic trail!

May, 2024 by behe.amanda_tl

Loved the Montour trail. Easy parking at Tandem Connections. Rode a bit in both directions to see both the National and Greer tunnels. Scenery is great, with a private golf course within view. Trail is well taken care of and provides nice shade along the way. National tunnel felt amazing on a hot day, like a natural air conditioner!
